"I like the best" vs "I like the most"

Which is the correct or most popular/natural way of asking:

"What sport do you like the best?" "I like soccer the best of all sports."
or
"What sport do you like the most?" "I like soccer the most of all sports."

Are both of these correct? If so, does the popularity depend on location, for example BrE vs AmE? If not, is "the most" incorrect but widely used thus acceptable?
After living in Toronto for few years, I would say "the most" sounds more natural, but in many English textbooks I only see "the best" being used.

I don't know about BrE, but where I live the two are completely interchangeable. My personal preference is "most", but I occasionally say "best" as well.
