Vocabulary

"Herald"..

Please let me know if this sentence makes sense:

"This view is shared by many, who herald nanotechnology as the next industrial revolution"

Am I way off the mark?

Makes perfect sense to me. The comma sounds a little funny but without context I don't know whether the clause should be restrictive or not. "

Whoops, no idea how the comma crept in. Disregard!

Oh, and thanks! Thought it was okay, but had doubts as I couldn't really grasp the literal meaning of "herald".

Do you know the Christmas hymn Hark! The Herald Angel Sings? Many children think it's "Hark," Harold the Angel Sings.

I think 2a also applies to your sentence.
