To put it very simply (as there is a certain amount of overlap in meaning) - elegant refers to how someone appears, and graceful refers to how someone moves. A person might wear elegant clothes and move in a graceful manner.

As you said "A person might wear elegant clothes and move in a graceful manner. "

That is :

elegant -----clothes

graceful-----manner

Is it correct to say a graceful lady or an elegant lady?

Thank you in advance!

graceful:very natural

elegant:by working on it

Grace is in great measure a natural gift.

Elegance is something of an artificial character.
