"ed" on punish and "ed" on called and kill

Hi there, why is there a 'ed" at the end of "punish" if the sentence seem to be in the future because of the word "if" doesn't sount like past tense in this sentence.

If I break the law I should be punished.

Also is this sentence correct with "s" on "help"

Thanks to whoever help.

One last question? why is there "ed" at the end of "kill" and "ed" at the end of "call" it doesn't look past tense to me. can you please explain why so i can research it a little more

They have not killed nor murder anyone so they should not be called criminals, because they are not.
