I think you need to change it to: "My cat is daunting to all the mice in my backyard."

The "to" is necessary because daunting is not a verb.

Does it imply that your cat already daunt all mice?

My cat daunts all the mice in my backyard.

I've never heard it used transitively. My cat is daunting to the mice.

Do you mean as verb?

Yes. I have never seen "daunt" used as a transtive verb. I have never seen "The downhill course daunts Ellen." It would be Ellen finds the course daunting, or The course seems daunting to Ellen."

Simple I know word "daunt" as a verb in two meanings: to intimidate, to dishearten. I guess I don't know what the transitive verb is.
