"Copy stand" or "copy-stand"

Copy stands are photographic devices which take pictures of documents.

I've been trying to figure out if I should keep the world as copy-stand or copy stand. I see many online articles using "copy stand," but I think spelling is wrong. Since the word is a noun and not being modified, I believe it should be copy-stand.

Is there a definite way of telling?

I just googled this phrase. All three of the three manufacturers I looked at called it a "copy stand" with no hyphen. I think you need to be guided by industry usage, and not whether it looks right to you.
