I'm working on an interview segment where the interviewer asks the respondent to give him a direct answer. I'm not sure about my quotation mark placement.
The interviewer says, for example:
There are times when I'm lonely. Would you say, "Strongly agree, moderately agree, somewhat agree, disagree, or never"?
There are times when I'm lonely. Would you say, "Strongly agree," "moderately agree," "somewhat agree," "disagree," or "never"?
There are times when I'm lonely. Would you say, "Strongly agree, moderately agree, somewhat agree, disagree," or "Never"?
And now that I'm reading it, would "There are times when I'm lonely" need to be in quotation marks also since the interviewer is reading it?
Thank you for your help!
