In US I have heard that quotation marks should come after the comma. In t eh following instance how should be applicable?

Example :

If we go according to the US format then it would be

chris2010 In US I have heard that quotation marks should come after the comma I believe that US practice (as per my MLA Handbook) is comma always within the quotation marks. However, that has never made sense to me, so unless I am publishing, I put the comma outside as you have done. The verb is 'advi s e'; the noun is 'advi c e'.

The verb is 'advise'; the noun is 'advice'.
