quotation "even the best fall down sometimes"

I read the quotation in several forums and youtube videos, e.g.:



I think "fall" is wrong and it should spell "fall*s*". Or is "fall" correct in this context?

I'm not about to listen to the whole video. Can you give us a time marker within each video? However, I think that 'fall' is fine, since there are many 'best' under consideration.

The videos are not important. I only wanted to give some examples that I found the quotation on many sites, but I wasn't sure if the sentece is grammatically correct.

You're right, "best" could be only one person (singular) or many (plural). I implicitly assumed that "best" could only be singular, in which case "falls" is correct. But "best" could also be plural, so "fall" is fine as well
