"As per"

Good Day!
I often receive some mails which start with the phrase "as per" bla, bla bla,
I'm confused. I really don't know how to use it in a proper way.
Is it a colloquial phrase used only in mails? what about in formal business letters or daily speech?

Thank you in advance!!!

Cliveeg Instead of 'As per your recent request', say 'As you recently requested'.
Forgive my intrusion. It means "in accordance with" in accordance with dictionaries.

Happy Chinese Lunar New Year.
