"Angle"

For some time now, _____ has been presumed not to exist: the cynical conviction that everybody has an angle is considered wisdom.
A. rationality
B. flexibility
C. diffidence
D. disinterestedness
E. insincerity
Doesn't "angle" mean to attain something by using tricks? Then how come the choice "insinceiry" isn't "sincerity"? If E is not the answer, will "disinterestedness" suit the blank?

Thank you
