"All mammals" vs "The Mammals."

Hello everyone,

While I was studying articles I found that I am confused about the use of "the" with plural nouns. For example:

I know that the mammals = all the mammals. They both mean the same thing but what about "all mammals"? Does it mean the same thing?

Thanks in advance. Emotion: smile
