Quitting time in Bedrock

Hello!

In "two and a half men" a girl says - "I think I'm coming down with a cold."

And her boyfried answers her - "That doesn't sound like a cold, it
sounds like quitting time in Bedrock." ???

Please, help me figure out what does it mean, cause I haven't go the slightest idea
what it's about. What does he mean by Bedrock and by quitting time?

Hi, Have you heard of 'The Flintstones'? Fred Flintstone and his family and friends are caveman cartoon characters who live in prehistoric times, in a town called Bedrock. When Fred's work finishes every day, there's a loud siren/whistle noise.
