Quite cordial

He was really happy as the client was quite cordial while he speaking to him on the phone yesterday.

He is explaining the project requirements to us(our team) on the conversation of the client over the phone yesterday.

Are these sentence correct? and Is "explaining the project requirement to us" suitable in the sentence? or any other sentence is better? please let me know
