Quite busy since late

Hi

Is the following sentence correct? Please let me know. Thank you.

Actually I have been quite busy since late.

Should I use "recently" in place of "late"?

"I've been quite busy of late" is correct, but a bit stylish/upper register.

Perhaps you mean, "I've been quite busy until very recently."

I don't think "since recently" works at all here.

I suspect CJ would call it a "sentential adverb." It modifies the whole sentence/clause.
