Hi,
1 - the answer is "slow", not "slowly".
2 - I don't tknow the answer because I've never understood the difference between "fast" and "quick". As Bokeh says, "fast" is used when "speed" is involved, but I'm sure it's used in a lot of other contexts too.

Quickly and fast are synonyms. Both OK here, well, at least I guess so.

Hi Kooyeen,

When two cars have a race the quicker one will always win irrespective of which is the faster. And Maple they are not synonyms.

Hi, Bokeh, my dictionary DOESN'T list them as synonyms. But it does use "quickly or rapidly" to define fast. And to me,

is developing very fast. ==The speed of the development of is very fast.

But maybe I’m wrong.

Hi Maple,

Yes, I'm British.

If you were to use fast in this context it would be a metaphor since the rate of development is not a measure of velocity (fast), but a measure time versus progress.
