quick question - using "size" vs. "sized"

0 Hi everyone - 02br
02br
00This is my first post to the forum. I'm delighted this site exists!02br
02br
00I'm working on a website for our company and have come across some questionable wording that was delieverd from our marketing department.02br
02br
00I'm working on a FAQ page - and one of the questions is:02br
02br
00"What is the average size book?"02br
02br
00For some reason, this seems odd, and I've been unable to find anything with Google.02br
02br
00Wouldn't it be better to say:02br
02br
00"What is the average sized book?"02br
02br
00My suggestions usually get shot down, but I am curious to know whether or not "size" or "sized" is correct.02br
00Any suggestions would be appreciated!0-

02br 02br 00My instinct is that 'average-sized' would be the grammatically correct adjective, but that 'size' is in sufficiently common use to be acceptable to most native readers/speakers. 0-

00My instinct is that 'average-sized' would be the grammatically correct adjective, but that 'size' is in sufficiently common use to be acceptable to most native readers/speakers. Alternatively, I'd be prepared to accept that "the average size book" is an ellision of "the average size [of a] book".02br

0 Or, my favorite solution - rewrite. What is the size of an average book? or What is the average size of your books? 0-
