quick question regarding letter of professional aspiration

0I am finishing up a letter of professtional aspiration (purpose statement, letter of intent, etc...) to send to a prospective graduate school.  my question is, do these letters need to be formatted like a business letter, or will there be any formatting involved.  i can find no examples of these types of letters on the Internet, except for ones that are devoid of any actual formatting.02br02br00ie  Dear Admissions Commitee/saluatation of any sort?02br02br00&lt;body&gt;02br02br00     closing of any type?0-
