Quick Question about names and comas in same sentence
Hi - I keep getting confused with the following sentence structure. I know to put a coma after the name in a sentence like: "Richard, we are of one goal and one mind."
But, I am never sure if I need to put a coma before the name, if the name is at the end of the sentence: (ie) "We are of one goal and one mind Richard."
Thank you for your help, Chris

Yes, you need to put a comma before the name. Commas often help the reader to slow down and pause, and that's what you would tend to do before you get to the name "Richard."
