Quick grammar question!

Here I'm replying to a message saying:

I hope I didn't add an extra load of work 'on/to/for' you?
which one is correct?

I've always had trouble figuring out which preposition(they are called preposition?) to use.

Hi Mister Micawber
I just thought of another similar example
Is this correct to use 'for' in this sentence : That is a lot of work load 'for' you?
Thank you.

That is a big work load for you. -- OK certainly, but this doesn't necessarily mean that the listener is actually burdened with that load.
