Questions to dialog

Friend: Did you have your son yesterday?

Bitter ex-husband: Yes. But apparently I *** up, so I'm not going to see him again anytime soon.

Friend: Your ex-wife decided that?/Did your ex-wife decide that?

Bitter ex-husband: Yup.

- Is it clear from the bitter ex-husband's first statement "so I'm not going to" that he's not allowed by the ex-wife to see his son or does it sound like he has no interest in seeing him again?

- Which of "your ex-wife decided that?" and "Did your ex-wife decide that?" is more natural?
