Questions regarding conditional
Hello,
I have some doubts regarding certain complex strutures:
#1 Suppose I want to write in past conditional the following sentence: If X had gone fishing, Y would have gone fishing too. I am sure this is right, but what if I want to use 'so would' since both X and Y perform the same actions? Had X gone fishing, so would have Y. Is this 'so would have' right because it is past conditional?
#2 The method was to change X to Y in the hopes that the result 'would have' some meaning.
The method was to change X to Y in the hopes that the result 'would have had' some meaning.
Since it is past tense, I am not sure which is right - would have or would have had?
#3 Moses said to God: You are He who has no name. Or is it: You are him who has no name. Do I treat this as objective or subjective case?
#4 He could have attacked them without being attacked by them.
Is 'being attacked' correct here, or must it be 'getting attacked'?
