questions regarding abbreviation

Hello,
I have a question regarding w/ being used to represent with. Would it be proper to use a space after the w/ or no space. As in "I would like toast w/butter." or "I would like toast w/ butter." Thanks in advance.

Hi, Normally it would just be written as toast with butter . In other words, w/ is not really used as a standard abbreviation. In practice, you'd probably hear people say 'buttered toast'.
