1. When doing a power point (Power Point - in capital letters?)presentation, would you say this type of writing (I think it is a type of writing since I think many words are not included) is acceptable?
Finally,
Ask yourselves:
- How highlight features of introduction?
- How subtlely bring in focal point?
Could we write the following for what follows the part "Ask yourselves"?
- How could highlight feature of introduction?
- How could subtlely bring in focal point?
2. I might be mistaken but I think when you write an article for a magazine, your writing likely includes the title and what I call "subtitles" (It might not be the right term to use - I don't know). When you write those subtitles, would you say any logical wording is correct?
eg,
Let us pretend someone is writing about a popular Korean summer dish named "Samgyetang" and he starts off with such a sentence: It usually gets very hot during midsummer in Korea and usually the restaurants that serve the dish "Samgyetang" start to get busy...
Then gets to this:
Origin of the Dish
It was originally called...
For the part underlined (for your (and our) convenience), which I would call a "subtitle," would you say he could have used any wording logical like "The History of Samgyetang" or "How Samgyetang Got Started"?
3. When writing for a professional journal, I was taught that we have to cite our sources and I think the below employs what I think is called "in-text citation." Do you think this is correct? Let us pretend we are writing about rubrics. The following are made up to ask a question, including the name "John Doe," a fictitious name and the year "19XX," with Xed out parts. I leave to your imagination to come up with the wording appropriate for the part ellipted.
Rubrics can be a strong tool to use by teachers and a helpful guide for students as... in their endeavors. (John Doe, 19XX)
