Please answer my questions below and comment on what I have said for the following three sentences.

When you do this, you bend your upper body forward, not necessarily bending your knees, as a sign of deference. -- How would you make sure whether the underlined part is an essential element or not? If has a comma before it, but I think it was to punctuated the sentence adverbial (I think it is that - not sure, though) "not necessarily bening your knees."?

I'd rearrange it like this.

When you do this, you bend your upper body forward as a sign of deference, not necessarily bending your knees.

But the way you have written your version also seems fairly clear.

If she came to you and said, you are not requireed to pay for the loan from her, which you used it to buy a name-brand bicycle; would that make you happy? -- Would you say the use of the semicolon after the word "bicycle" in this sentence is correct? No. You can't just put a condition by itself before a semi-colon. There are also other problems in what you have written.

I'd write it like this.

If she came to you and said you were not required to repay her loan, which you used to buy a name-brand bicycle, would that make you happy?

He wanted to eat something exotic, that ~~will~~ would thrill his taste buds.-- Would you say the underlined part that seems like a noun clause is correct to be there. It seems like it is acting as an appositive (I am sure, though -- just think it is). It just seems to me to be an adjectival clause describing 'something'. I wouldn't use a comma.

I think another version that is correct would be "He wanted to eat something exotic, something that ~~will~~ would thrill his taste buds." Yes, this is fine, as an appositive.
