Questions on a sentence

Hi. Please help me with this sentences. I have some questions on it.

I am not sure but I think he might find certain qualities more appealing, for example, to be entrepreneurial, able to priortize tasks, be a good organizer, as well as showing considerable initiative.

Questions:

1) Do you think the underlined part shows the concept of parallelism (is parallelism a concept, anyway?)?

2) Do you think using the abbreviation "eg" instead of writing it out like "for example" above is appropriate in formal writing like a university composition or thesis?
