Questions: Directions.

Hi Teachers,

Most of the exercises for the students have these directions, this is just an example:

Change the direct speech sentences to reported speech sentences. But first read the example. For help see pages 23-25 and 31-32.

My question is at the end of the exercises besides the ones, I say, '... for help see pages ...', I give them one that they have to do without looking at the pages that can help them to do the exercise.

How should I write these directions then:

The following one me doesn't work to me. Could you suggest a much better one please?

Change the direct speech sentences to reported speech sentences without looking at any help.

Thanks in advance

Hi Philip,

Thank you for your help.

I prefer yours, 'without using any reference material'.

Best regards
