Questions about the song "Gave it all away"

Could I ask two questions about the song “Gave it all away?”

Part of its lyrics is as follows:

Some people wait a lifetime for a chance like this
I've waited enough
Baby, no, I won't let you go
I'm sick of tears and being fierce

Q1: What does fierce here mean?

Q2: When I listened to the song, what I heard was quite different from the sentences which were underlined above. Could somebody tell me what they are singing? Is it what the underlined sentences show?

Sometimes song lyrics just don't make sense. Sometimes, the lyrics you find online are just wrong! In this case, the latter is true. The correct lyrics are "I'm sick of tears and bitter fears". The (t) sound in "bitter" is soft, almost like a (d) but it's definitely not "being". Also, the final sound in the last word is clearly (z) as in "fears", not (s) as in "fierce". Listen again a few times and try to hear the difference.

Hey, I heard that commercial and quite liked the song too - you've probably found it by now, but in case you haven't it's Sunrise by Josh Mobley. Fortunately, it's great even past the clip they used in the commercial.
