Questions about indefinite article.

I have some questions about indefinite article.
Let's say I am allergic to apples and have never had apples. And after eating some small pieces of apple in a piece apple pie by mistake, is it correct to say "I just ate apple!" without an article or any words like 'some pieces'?
Another question. Does the sentence below mean that the turkey was alive when I bought it?
"I bought a turkey."

Top answer

" without an article or any words like 'some pieces'? It is possible but unusual and slightly odd. " No.

  • " without an article or any words like 'some pieces'?
  • It is possible but unusual and slightly odd.
  • " No.
  • We would not expect that.
