Questions about grammar...

1. "My little sister wants new clothes because she is tired of wearing mine."
Is mine a pronoun? I'm asking so because I can't find its actecedent...
2. "As the chocolate was melting, it was becoming a liquid."
This question asks "fill in the blank with the correct past progressive tense" but it sounds strange to me for filling both of the blanks with past progressive. Do you think that it's correct?
3. "Esmeralda Santiago attended a performing arts school in the city."
Is performing arts adjective of "school?"

Thank you so much Emotion: smile!
