Questions about coffee size

Could I ask a couple of questions?

If I go to Starbucks, there are different sizes for coffee-- short, tall, grande, venti.

But if I go to other coffee shops and order a cup of coffee, should I say "short, tall, grande, venti" or "small, medium, large?"

And how do I pronounce "grande," "venti?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last question is that how do I pronounce the name "Galifianakis?"

Thank you so much in advance.
