Could someone please explain what is wrong with this sentence.

Thank you

It is an odd question. With negative question like this, I would say: Don't cars with automatic transmission have power steering. Even with that, most people will only form negative question in particular context.

  • Don't you see / do you not see what Paul is doing to you?
  • (Paul is not working, living in her place and eating off her pantry) and her friend is asking her in a sarcastic tone.

There's nothing wrong with the sentence.

It may sound strange to some ears when taken out of context.

In some situations, I believe it would be preferable to the more common "Don't automatic cars have power steering?"

Manual or automatic are lables for the type of transmission an automobile is equipped with. We all know that. That's said, automatic cars - to me sounded odd. Maybe it's just how it sounded to my ears.....BTW, power rack-and-pinion steering is pretty much standard equipment nowadays in passenger vehicles, regardless the type of transmission.
