Question with word "advance"?

I have a question of using the word "advance", I often see the term "advanced level" but why can't we just simply call it "advance level" ?

We use advanced because it's an adjective, and adjectives modify nouns. Advance is normally a verb and sometimes noun, but its adjective form is not commonly used and has other purposes. com/dictionary/advance for definitions.
