Question with "conventional"!!!

Can you explain why the word "conventional" is said to be "disapproved" while the word "unconventional" is said to be "approved" in the Dictionary?

What is wrong if someone has an ordinary or typical characteristic?

What dictionary are you using? That sounds strange.

Look up "conventional oven", "conventional warfare", "conventional mortgage".

I'm sorry...my bad....i intended to mean "approving" and "disapproving" instead of "disapproved" and "approved"....And I concur to your explanation Mr Wordy...thnx

It's like the word "conventional" is attached to the sense that "you do what everyone else is doing" which makes it seem dull...
