Question Tag

Hi,

Raja myself, is new to this forum.

Hope you take me in.

Now my question..

How does a question tag appear on command and pleasing sentence?

For example, "Come here, ..............." (command)

"Please come here, ...................." (please)

I just registered and posted the same question for immediate replies.

I heard from a teacher saying, when we use commanding tone, it comes this way: "come here, won't you?" and when we please, "please come here, will you?"

I would appreciate if you could clarify me this.

I heard from a teacher saying, when we use commanding tone, it comes this way:

"come here, won't you?" I wouldn't say that your teacher is wrong, but consider these cultural comments.

In my culture, we rarely issue commands without 'Please', unless we are eg an army officer. Such a person would not say 'won't you'.

'Will you?' is also possible in the polite request.
