Hi Teachers.

Could you correct the reported speech sentences?

Woman: Did you have an accident?

Man: Yes I did. Because the road was icy.

a) The woman asked if he had had an accident.

b) The man answered yes because the road has been icy.

Sorry, why you don't use '... he had an accident because ...'. Isn't it necessary?

You can stop at the auxiliary if you want.

She asked if he had gone to China.
