Question or statement

Hello,

I want to know if the sentence below is okay, particularly whether or not the question format is okay.

Most people would think this is insane. Want to know what I think? I think it's genius.

First of all, is the above okay?

Second, question mark or exclamation point or just a period - which is appropriate here? Although 'want to know what I think' sounds like a question, the person is NOT expecting an answer. So can we consider it a statement and avoid the question mark? If so, how do we frame the sentence?

Some ideas would help.

Thanks a ton.
