Question on the possesive adjective 'its'

Hi teachers,

If I have have two bowls and one is the cat's bowl and the other the dog's, is it wrong to ask pointing to one of the pets, 'Is it its bowl? and answering 'Yes, it is'.

Thanks in advance,

Better to say: "Is that its bowl"? Incidentally, "its" is a possessive pronoun, not a possessive adjective. BillJ
