Question on structure?

In this example, is it clear that Silvanost is the actual capital city? Can I structure sentences like this where I say "the capital city of 'actual city' ", or does it have to be the actual nation following "capital city of"?

Mina and her army were able to bypass the shield thanks to the power of the One God, and then marched straight to the elven capital city of Silvanost

You have it right. "Elven" gets you there if the elves have a nation whose name is not mentioned and whose capital city is Silvanost. the American capital, Washington the American capital city of Washington Washington, the capital city of America but the capital city of Washington is Olympia

Thanks so much for your help. So I should structure this example like this then?
The group was escorted by the elves to Qualinost, the capital city, where they learned that the Qualinesti planned to evacuate their lands before the Red Dragonarmy invaded.

What happened to Silvanost?

This is just another example, I have the "capital city of" in several different parts of my fantasy narrating. So would that other example be the proper way to structure the sentence?

I don't have enough information. You seem to be saying that Qualinost is the capital city of some unnamed country, but you go on to use what looks like an inflected form of the same name, Qualinesti, to refer to the inhabitants of "lands", which implies that it is the name of the country, unless the name of the country is also supposedly based on the same invented root, maybe something like Qualin

I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my description, here is a better example:

Within the prisoner convoy, the companions were joined by the mysterious and eccentric wizard Fizban, and were later rescued in an ambush set by the Qualinesti elves outside their borders. The companions were escorted by the elves to Qualinost, the capital city, where they met with the Speaker of the Sun.
