Question on "admission"

Hi,

I am really struggling with the word "admission". Could anyone shed some light on my following questions:

1. What is the difference between "admission" and "admissions".
2. Can I say "receive admission"? Or is there any better verbs to work with "admission"?

Thanks a lot for your time!

Ben

  1. admissions is just the plural
  2. can I be admitted
The verb you use depends on the context. You can say “can I please be admitted” or you might say “I need to buy three admissions” or ”Get three admissions for the price of one!”

Another noun used for being allowed to enter a place is 'admittance'. But this word normally used in the negative, I don't know why ' No admittance '
