Question on 'pick up' and 'hung up' a wireless phone

Hi teachers,
If you take a wireless phone from its cradle because it is ringing, is it also called 'pick up' the phone?
If after a phone conversation, you replace a wireless phone in its cradle, is it called 'hang up' and 'hang down' too?

Thanks in advance.

You 'pick up' or 'answer' or 'get' the phone when it rings, no matter what kind of phone it is, and you also 'hang up' when you finish your call.

Hi Mister Micawber,
Thank you for your reply. I've asked because I have a picture with a man picking up a wire phone, due to modern times, I have to change the picture, I should have done it long b
