Question on a statement

Hi teachers,
According to this statement, 'She stared at Felix, and Felix stared back at her.'
Is this question appropriate? 'What did they do to each other? Is there a better one?

well, it depends,the aappropriate question would be simply: "what did they do?"
but if u insist on having the phrase "each other" , better to say: "what did they do at each other" , at least it sounds more natural, though i'm not sure about the grammar

Thank you for your reply.
The thing is that I can't change the sentence, it is from a book and the student's dont have the text. This is a listening exercise. So the students only have the questions, but not the answers.
I had this suggestion, "Who stared at whom?" as a possible question to this statement, 'She stared at Feli
