The leader I think is important to me is the Algerian president Howari Boumediane. He was elected in 1970 and governed Algeria from 1970 to 1977. I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explore below

To begin with, I must say this president was the first educated president.
There is no doubt that having him in the top of government with all his background was beneficial for the country. He made the education mandatory in the entire country. he set up juridical punishments against parents who would refuse to send their daughter to school.
The experience of aunt is a good example of what I mean. She was born in period where parents didn’t want to send their daughters to school based on cultural reasons, however because of this new law, my grandfather was obligated to send her to school. So she went to elementary school, and she was a brilliant student, she earned a university law school and now she is the first woman judge in Algeria.

Secondly In addition to the points, mentioned above, The president Howari fought hard to make access to health care system affordable to everyone. Before he had been elected, no Algerian had health insurance so he focused with doctors to design medical model where everyone can be covered. Furthermore. He launched the scholarship for doctors and health allied personal to go to Europe for better education.

In conclusion, the president Hawari was committed to improve Algerians’ lives .therefore I think he was the best leader in Algeria.
