question in spoken english

My American friend (native speaker of English) said this: "there's more fish in the sea"
is it correct to use 'there is' with plural ( in spoken English, not grammatically ) ?

Unfortunately, there's no contraction for "there are."
When you try to say it, it comes out "Therea more fish in the sea."
