Hello, johny—and welcome to English Forums. I am not sure that 'had' is correct in either case. I suggest: Which process have we optimized recently?

Which process had we optimized recently?

In normal questions, the subject is inverted with the (helping) verb (unless the subject is an interrogative pronoun):

Are we there yet? (inversion with the verb "be")
Who is coming to dinner? (no inversion with the interrogative pronouns - who what when where why how)

No inversion in indirect questions:
He asked me which

I agree, usage of "had" seems to be wrong anyway. So, focussing on "Which process have we optimized recently?" by the logic of inversion, is it right?
