Question beginning with 'isn't it'

Just watched the latest Avengers trailer today and in it there's this quote by Tony Stark. "Isn't why we fight so we can end the fight and go home?"
I was wondering if the following question is grammatically correct as well. "Isn't it why we fight so we can end the fight and go home?"

Thank you in advance.

The first sentence you wrote is fine actually. It is informal but it's fine. The actual quote is correct.

Actually, it occurred to me later that this one of course makes sense with different punctuation, provided the concept (or something similar) has been previously mentioned. "that" might be more usual though.
