Question and answer

Hello! Can you please check whether the following question and answer are grammatically correct? Thank you.

Do you think it's a good idea to ask somebody who got an ASBO if/whether ASBO can help to stop crime? Why?

I don't think it's a good idea because, if he/she is suffering the consequences of / because of an ASBO, he/she would never tell that ASBO is good for any reason / for something.
