Question about usage of this prepositional phrase
"Rhetoric has long been a supporting thread in the social fabric of human civilization, since the days of Aristotle."
Is this a correct and/or "good/acceptable" use of a prepositional phrase, ", since the days of Aristotle."? Is there a better way to incorporate this detail? Or is this actually an absolute phrase even though it is not the usual noun and participle pattern?

There is nothing unusual about these two phrases.
