Hi teachers,

Information to consider:

I have seen these two sentences in one of my books. The idea is to use indefinite pronous according to the given pictures.

1.- Everybody is on the sofa.

2.- There is somebody on the sofa.

My question is, Why do they use the introductory subject 'there is' for #2 and they don't for #1?

Thanks in advance.
