Question about the use of rehash in a sentence.

Does this sentence make sense? Is it correct grammar?

"Mark Antony was able to move the public by using material that was already mentioned and rehashing it in his favor."

Yes. You may think it is incorrect because the preposition by is not repeated later in the sentence.

... by using material that ...

and

(by) rehashing it ...
